Hey Guys,

We are now coming towards the middle of March and the year is well underway already, but it’s not too late to say that I believe this year is going to be a great one for me in terms of personal growth and that is not me trying to brag, but letting you know that things can change for the better.

Just let me explain and you will see.

First of all, I have been in my job now for 7 months. That has really flown by, hasn’t it?

In fact, it’s not only a job, it’s something I truly love and am actually quite good at.

I remember letting you all in on my journey to getting the position, to telling you about my first month update and now it has been over half a year.

In that time I have learned so much, and have really expanded my skills, opening myself up to new opportunities along the way.

It’s definitely true what they say, that when the real world hits you, it does truly hit you like a tonne of bricks and you know what? You don’t always realise to begin with. But the thing is, it isn’t a negative thing, but rather the complete opposite, it is exactly what should happen and I think I am really beginning to grasp that now.

Let’s look back a few years ago, to the girl you first came to know. She was lost, unsure of herself, and not happy with where her life was heading.

Jump forward a few years, and that same girl is working full time, volunteering and getting involved with several projects with Church and Charitable groups as well as still managing to blog on the side. I have really shocked myself.

It’s as though my life has turned a full 180 degrees and I am on the path I am supposed to be on, or at least that is how it feels right now.

There is absolutely no telling where I am going to end up in my life in a year, 2 years or even 10 years time, but what is for sure, is that I am more prepared for any changes or unexpected moments which may come my way.

I am excited for the next chapter in my life. There are some great life challenges on the way which I can’t wait to face. Bring it on because for once in my life, I feel ready!

To any of you that are worried right now, feeling lost or not sure what is next for you, just remember things can change. Nothing bad lasts forever, no matter how it seems now. It takes a little hard work but you will reap the benefits soon enough! Surround yourselves with positive people and build yourself up. Bit by bit, a difference will be seen.

Bit corny, but totally true.

See you soon,

Funny, cool, fully illustrated and totally readable, this book is the ultimate must-have for fans of Marcus Butler.’

Marcus Butler, is a British YouTuber who most people love, so when I finally heard that the book was coming out, I was so excited. Thankfully, my mom ended up winning a signed copy of the book which I would say is seriously AWESOME! I even ended up reading the whole book in just over a day.

This was last year by the way.

Anyway, from this book you see Marcus has such a vast and astounding knowledge on varying subjects and I really had no idea that he had been through as much as he had. Some people give advice without actually knowing anything about what another person is feeling or going through, but he really does, and because of this, I really felt like I needed to take on board what he was saying.

This book was full of so much insight and ideas on how to live your best life today and be the best you can be. I felt really inspired and actually left the book wanting to change myself and adapt in order to reach my full potential.

He even makes you feel as though you are not alone, as he along with many others have surely felt a similar way or exactly the same as you have. It was comforting and put me at ease, more so than I have been before. Probably one of the main reasons I loved it as much as I actually did.

The final chapters look into his success, as well as how he thinks we can turn things around or work harder in order for us to do the same, in which ever things we choose. The step to step guides within each chapter help to break things down and make it easier to see how each individual goal can actually be reached.

It is a book for everyone who has ever felt anything ever. He is one YouTuber whose book I definitely think is worth picking up and reading.

A Book For Mental Health Awareness Week!

19360268 Title: Banish Your Self Esteem Thief

Author: Kate Collins-Donnelly

Publisher: Jessica Kingsley Publishers

‘Packed with activities and real-life stories, this imaginative workbook will show you what self-esteem is, how it develops, the impact it can have and how all this applies to your own self-esteem. Using cognitive behavioural and mindfulness principles and techniques, this workbook will help you change how you think and act in order to build positive self-esteem, protect your Self-Esteem Vault and banish your Self-Esteem Thief for good!’

Review:

As part of the libraries ‘Reading Well’ scheme, I picked up this book to see if it would help me at all with my self esteem issues, because for a long time I would, and still do, look at myself and see nothing but ugly and someone who is worthless. After reading this though, I think there has been a noticeable improvement! I am not fully there, but it has definitely helped to put me on the right path to getting better, which is obviously a great start, and something I am happy with. Once I was finished with it, my mom and stepdad bought me a copy of it, so I can continue to work on myself further.

This book is worded in a way which is mainly for a younger audience, but can be used by someone of my age also. It uses anecdotes as well as language and illustrations that really accompanies the information well, and makes it easier to understand. There is none of that jargon you would get from a Doctor, or in other books suited for adults. It was just perfect to use, and I actually understood what is going on with me, and saw my problems in a different and more manageable way.

There are also activities as you work your way through the book. This is where you come in, as it gets you to take control of your emotions and how you feel. You are able to locate the problems, and pin point the issues well, as well as come up with an action plan to move on.

This is a fun and easy way to get you on your way to getting rid of your self esteem issues, as well as knowing what to do if you ever feel that way again. Probably one of the best self help books I have come across.
