Oh How Life Changes!

Oranges have essential vitamin contents, antioxidants, protein, water percentage, and fiber. These are necessary minerals that help in keep the nutrients in your body balanced. (1)

Hey Guys,

We are now coming towards the middle of March and the year is well underway already, but it’s not too late to say that I believe this year is going to be a great one for me in terms of personal growth and that is not me trying to brag, but letting you know that things can change for the better.

Just let me explain and you will see.

First of all, I have been in my job now for 7 months. That has really flown by, hasn’t it?

In fact, it’s not only a job, it’s something I truly love and am actually quite good at.

I remember letting you all in on my journey to getting the position, to telling you about my first month update and now it has been over half a year.

In that time I have learned so much, and have really expanded my skills, opening myself up to new opportunities along the way.

It’s definitely true what they say, that when the real world hits you, it does truly hit you like a tonne of bricks and you know what? You don’t always realise to begin with. But the thing is, it isn’t a negative thing, but rather the complete opposite, it is exactly what should happen and I think I am really beginning to grasp that now.

Let’s look back a few years ago, to the girl you first came to know. She was lost, unsure of herself, and not happy with where her life was heading.

Jump forward a few years, and that same girl is working full time, volunteering and getting involved with several projects with Church and Charitable groups as well as still managing to blog on the side. I have really shocked myself.

It’s as though my life has turned a full 180 degrees and I am on the path I am supposed to be on, or at least that is how it feels right now.

There is absolutely no telling where I am going to end up in my life in a year, 2 years or even 10 years time, but what is for sure, is that I am more prepared for any changes or unexpected moments which may come my way.

I am excited for the next chapter in my life. There are some great life challenges on the way which I can’t wait to face. Bring it on because for once in my life, I feel ready!

To any of you that are worried right now, feeling lost or not sure what is next for you, just remember things can change. Nothing bad lasts forever, no matter how it seems now. It takes a little hard work but you will reap the benefits soon enough! Surround yourselves with positive people and build yourself up. Bit by bit, a difference will be seen.

Bit corny, but totally true.

See you soon,

My Fitness Regime + 2 Apps To Help You!

Hey Guys,

In my first secondary school, or if you’re not British, High School, most of our P.E sessions consisted of running track or circuit training, so we were very active, but when I moved schools, the hours were longer, and we only did P.E once a week rather than twice, so I lost that side of my life a bit. However, I did a bit on my own time, but I still didn’t think it was enough. Now that I am out of school, I have been getting back to how I was before, exercising and working on my fitness levels, as well as helping health wise.

Some people have even gone as far as to ask me why I do it so much, and why I enjoy it, and the reason is, it helps me reduce my stress levels, and my anxiety, as it releases a feel good hormone. If you suffer from anxiety, this is a perfect way to decrease it, and bring your levels back to normal. It may not help you as much as it did with me, but it’s a least worth a try!

Walking:

Walking has many health benefits including: strengthening the heart, losing weight, toning up muscles in the body such as your legs (well done captain obvious), as well as boosting vitamin D.

According to many different sources, we should be walking around about 10,000 steps a day, which may seem difficult at first, so you can start with less if it helps.

For walking, I use the app Pedometer, which is free on the play store. It is a great app which works by sensing the movements as you walk, and tells you things such as how many steps you have walked, how long you have walked for (the clock stops when you do), calories lost and the speed in which you are walking.

The app needs to know information like gender, age, and weight, so it can calculate your steps more efficiently.

Here is an example of mine from today:2016-04-08_16.53.28[1]

As you can see, it tells you how many steps you have walked that day, and in the week and the month. You can even look at previous days, weeks, and months to compare. It is a great way to keep track of your progress, but I have to say, it will not be fully accurate, but it is pretty close!

Other Exercises:

The other exercises I do are mainly for toning certain muscles in my body, whether that is in my legs, arms or abdomen. For these, I use the app, 30 Day Challenge, which every day for a month tells you how many of each different exercise to do. There are quite a few levels to complete, and for each you have to finish the 30 days, with each day getting harder and harder, with a few rest days in between for certain things.

The exercises include, Ab training, Bodyweight exercises, Push ups, and Squats. As the days go on, new things will be added to these categories, as well as larger amounts to do, resulting in sweating like mad. I am really sorry to tell you that, but least it shows you it is working.

What you will see:

2016-04-08_17.23.31[1]2016-04-08_17.24.07[1]2016-04-08_17.27.31[1]

For each category, it gives you the amount of each exercise you need to do before you can tick off the day, as well as showing you the amount of days done and how many are left to go. It gets more difficult as you go along, but if there wasn’t a challenge it wouldn’t be worth doing.

Final Thoughts:

When I do both of these, I like to make sure that I have music on so I have something else to concentrate on whilst exercising. It really helps and is the perfect distraction from the pain, although you still feel it. Also, it is important to keep hydrated, so always make sure you have water with you or straight after so your body can begin to recover. Oh and good luck!

Mental Health Effects Everyone!

About Me(2)

Hey Guys,

Did you know that Mental Health issues are something which effect every single one of us?

Even you, yes you there, reading this!

You may be thinking: ‘How does this effect me? I don’t have anxiety, depression, or well anything else along those lines, so where do I fit into this?”

Well I have the answer for you. Everyone, in some form or another, will face some sort of Mental Health issue at some point in their life, whether personally or being around someone you know who has, maybe that of a family member or perhaps just someone at work or school.

Some people, when hearing about someone who may be dealing with a Mental Health issue, will possibly begin to avoid that person, or fully exclude them, due to thinking of it as a really negative term, or thinking it is best to just give them space.

No!

If a person were suffering from something like anxiety or depression, this isn’t the way in which people should go about helping. They deserve patience, support, and not being treated as though they are ‘different’.

They are not different.

I am not different.

I myself have suffered with anxiety for quite some time now. It has effected me a lot more than I ever thought it would, and has even caused me to break down on many occasions, and go into complete panic mode. I know first hand what it is like to feel as though you are not like everyone else. Feeling this way really angers me inside, which I really hate.

I am just a girl. Sure, I don’t wear makeup like other girls, and I am not in a relationship, it makes me different, but in a way that I am comfortable. However, excluding someone who needs your time, is not comfortable for them, nor is it ok.

Just because you feel different to someone, doesn’t make you different.

Now, I know that someone dealing with something like anxiety can really be a handful for people, and really effect those who are trying to help. I understand that. Trust me I do. I always feel terrible for bringing people into it, thinking they need to help me through my problems. They want to help, and I know it’s not easy, but it’s not easy for us either.

There have been many times, where I have been angry at myself, because I made it so difficult for others, not intentionally, but I did.

You can help, just don’t push the person too much. It really doesn’t help. In fact, it pushes them further away.

Mental Health isn’t just a term! It is something we are all dealing with!

Sorry about this little (BIG) rant. It’s just been on my mind for a while now.
