Hey Guys,

I thought today I would do something I haven’t done in quite some time and something quite frankly I have missed.

I will be doing a review on a movie I recently saw at the Cinema, Paddington.

Carry on reading to find out what I thought of it.

If you read my review last year on the first installment of Paddington, the movie based on the lovely, marmalade eating bear, you will know that it was my favourite movie of 2014 and with good reason.

So when I heard that Paddington was returning to our screens this year, I practically jumped at the chance to see it. I remember running downstairs to show my parents, also fans of the movie, the brand new trailer which had not long been released at the time.

It looked amazing. Obviously this is what I was expecting, and when I heard others raving about it, my excitement levels jumped through the roof.

Now on to the movie itself.

Paddington 2 basically carries on from where we left off previously. He is now living with the Browns on a permanent basis and is growing quite the relationship with the neighbors around him.

When he realises he doesn’t have the money to purchase the perfect gift for his aunt on her birthday, he tries to do all he can to earn it, but when the gift he wants gets taken, Paddington is the one who gets taken into custody, despite being completely innocent.

This movie includes a lot of new faces as well as those familiar ones we fell in love with the first time round, making for a fun roller coaster ride of a journey.

Just like with the first movie, the jokes came in thick and fast with a very interesting and family friendly humor throughout, making it enjoyable for all and not just the kids.

However, unlike the first, this movie emphasised more on the heartfelt moments shared between the characters as opposed to the full on belly laughs we had to face the first time round. It was a totally different experience to say the least.

The dynamic between characters was just amazing and really was enough to make you smile.

In particular, I loved seeing how Paddington interacted with the Brown’s and Mrs Bird in their family environment as well as with his fellow prison inmates. Although different in their own right, helped to make the movie what it was.

I will say though, although I loved this movie, I don’t think it could match the original, but as a sequel truly delivered and an unmissable film for sure.

A must watch for all!

Happy Blogmas,

Angry Birds The Movie | Movie Review

https://i.ytimg.com/vi/QRmKa7vvct4/maxresdefault.jpg

So I finally got around to watching this movie after being told it was ‘laugh out loud’ funny by several people who urged me to see it.

Hmm. How do I put this nicely?

It was funny, to a certain degree, but it definitely wasn’t roll on the floor, dying of laughter funny like I thought it was going to be. I think I laughed a couple of times, and that was mainly at the jokes that only adults would understand, including a sneaky reference to ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ (cheeky), as well as certain parts of dialogue between the characters, mainly from the character Chuck with whoever he is speaking with. Apart from that, not really!

To be honest, I think after watching Paddington last year, the bar for family comedies, was raised pretty high, because that was hilarious (if you haven’t see it, you have to!).

I have never played the game. I was never really interested. I know, how dare I not join in with this world wide phenomenon. However, I know what it involves so I wasn’t particularly expecting much from it in terms of plot, but it ended up having an interesting and somewhat decent concept.

Angry birds go to anger management classes. See? Interesting as well as slightly humorous!

I really liked how they mentioned why the character Red is as angry as he is, by touching on the subject of bullying when he was younger. I still felt as though it could have had more to it than just one mini flashback.

The pigs were seriously annoying, and I don’t know what it is about them, but I found them rather creepy, even when I found out the voice of Leonard, the King of the Pigs, was Bill Hader. I guess that was the idea though. If so, then clearly they succeeded there.

When the idea from the game was finally introduced towards the end, during the battle between the Birds, and Pigs, I think it gave the movie that something extra, which makes people feel part of the story line, because of the familiarity. Not for me though. Also, it allows for the main characters to be seen in a totally different light, and finally get the acceptance they never knew they wanted. Obvious and predictable, but still makes you smile.

Oh and for any YouTube fans out there, these two minor but lovable characters are voiced by Ian Hecox, and Anthony Padilla from the popular YouTube channel, Smosh! I literally just found that out. Awesome right?

3 Movies I Am Seriously Excited About!

Hey Guys,

We are now in June, meaning we are 6 months into 2016, and already in the Summer months. It’s crazy. Where has the time gone? So far this year, we have had some brilliant movies come out, including my favourite so far, Zootopia.

This made me wonder about the next half of the year in film and what we have to look forward to. Is there anything worth watching? The simple answer, yes! Keep reading, and hopefully you will have 3 new, upcoming movies, to add to your list.

Finding Dory

The forgetful but truly lovable Dory returns for another adventure, but this time, it’s not Nemo who needs finding. It’s Dory.

This movie has been on my mind since Ellen announced it on her show a few years back. It has been a long wait, but thankfully, there isn’t much time left to wait before we get to be reunited with one of the most iconic characters of the 00s.

If you haven’t seen the first movie, Finding Nemo, you better catch up soon, because this is released June 17th.

Doctor Strange

An arrogant ex surgeon, gets a new start when he is given the chance to train with a sorcerer, which he will then hopefully use to save the world against evil.

I haven’t heard too much about this so far, but do I know that the trailer looks amazing, the cast is practically perfect, and it is from the minds of Marvel. Basically, those are what you need for a success in the box office, and something which will be an instant hit with the public. I can’t wait!

Doctor Strange is set for release November 4th.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Rebellion soldier, Jyn Erso is given the dangerous mission to steal the plans for the Death Star, along with only a few others available to help.

Ia absolutely love Star Wars, and I know a lot of you do too! I just find the action and the adventure to be so thrilling and exciting, and the story lines, to be so well thought out, apart from episode 1, 2 and 3 obviously, but let’s just forget they exist. The characters, and the way they all fit together in the way they do, just adds something really special to the movies.

Now this isn’t part of the main story you have been following, but it does have many familiar elements that will certainly comply with the worlds you have seen before. It will definitely be a great distraction for anyone who is seriously waiting on episode 8. At least this will tide me over until then.

Rogue One comes out December 16th. Now that is a long wait!

What movies are you excited about? What has been your favourite so far this year?

We All Need A Hero! I Know I do!

Hey Guys,

We all love Superhero movies! Who doesn’t? They are filled to the brim with action and adventure, Heroism and honor. There is just something about them that makes you want more and that is probably why at the moment they are some of the biggest movies around. However, along with this success will come many superhero movies, all of which will follow in the footsteps of those before it, meaning we will have seen many cliche ideas, so here are just five of them.

The Cape Is Everything:

Now I am aware that this isn’t in every single superhero movie, but if you look back at all of the classics, they all had a cape, and obviously, Batman and Superman would be nowhere without theirs.

The Science Experiment That Went Wrong:

Ladies and Gentleman I give you the Hulk. Not only was he himself made from a failed experiment, but Dr. Bruce Banner and Tony Stark accidently managed to make the villain from Age Of Ultron, with the work they were doing. Oops!

Not All Superheroes Actually Have Powers. Some Are Just Super Rich:

The two that come to mind straight away are Bruce Wayne, aka Batman, and Tony Stark who we all know to be the infamously arrogant but lovable Iron Man. If it wasn’t for the money they had, would they have been as effective?

The Traumatic Experience Which Makes Them Want Revenge:

Superhero’s are known for remaining cool, right? Nope! A lot of them are easily swayed by the idea of revenge when they see something happen to someone they love. They always make up for it in the end though. Well, that is the idea anyway.

The Significant Other That Always Ends Up In Trouble:

Every time! This one is slightly overused, well very overused. Why do they always have to be shown as weak? I know the villains do this to spark something from the hero, but still, can’t there be another way. At least once. Please Marvel (and DC) be a little different for once.
